![]() ![]() Now the campaigns are greatĪnd all but the REALLY good stuff is in the Sandbox. The game could use a little bit of bug fixing and streamlining, as controlling the camera requires pressing tab to switch between free view and fixed angle, and the mouse isn’t locked to the center of the screen or even visible in free view, so you’ll have to return to fixed angle to direct units or manage the pre-battle menu. At the time of writing this, it doesn’t seem to be mandatory to enjoy all of the content in the sandbox mode. Such as the werewolf which will either pin down its prey or jump onto it before devouring it There’s humans too, but some of them have a few quirks up their sleeves The game has a campaign mode where you may need to use your ability to direct your units to claim victory, providing some interesting challenges. A few creature types and what they do: Primates that will beat their enemies down and throw them away like trash if they’re not armed with weapons Carnivores that will attempt to bite their enemies and will latch on until forced off Herbivores that fight in various ways, including impaling claw strikes by a therizinosaurus and the mighty charge of an elephant Weaponized creatures including a mechanical rhinoceros with a terrifying weapon Giant invertebrates including ants that clamp onto enemies with their mandibles and scorpions that can kill the tankiest of foes with its sting Fantasy creatures. In ARBS, creatures will bite, grab, pummel, stab, and beat each other until their opponents go down. This is the most dynamic battle simulatorĬreatures don’t simply run at each other and perform a single attack until one side dies. The game seems to focus a little too much on mythical and extinct animals, which I don’t mind at all, but I think there needs to be a little more balance. (pulse rifle = tranq gun) adding useful & interesting things to the game, whether that’s new units or new gameplay mechanics. I love to make breach scenarios where a mutated T-rex or Spino (mutated as in just a bit more powerful) Breaks out and hunts down the staff and other dinosaurs while you run around with a tranquilizer finding more ammo to bring down the beasts. ![]() The T-rex actually picks up and squeezes people’s spines out. ![]() It beats the battle mechanisms on Garry’s mod, where they just slide through eachother and bite. Probably the best Combat mechanics, like every other battle simulator. And the updates themselves are substantive. They typically give updates every 2 weeks & are responsive to the community. In the Campaigns play mode, there are FPS maps where you can hunt dinosaurs! The developers are likewise very good. There are 3 different play modes (& many options within each play mode), dozens of units, many maps, several props, mods & tutorials. ![]() Furthermore, despite being in early access, ARBS already has a lot of content & depth. Plus, Animal Revolt Battle Simulator (ARBS) uses randomization insomuch that every battle is different, even if you’re replaying the same battle! Hence, ARBS has very high replayability. The graphics are very good, the controls are logical & easy & the gameplay is smooth & enthralling. Even some more amphibious animals like walruses and penguins. For example, sharks, dolphins, octopi, and orcas. It may not be possible at any time soon, but I think it should have aquatic animals in the mix, like primarily fully aquatic ones. Find out what they are and use that knowledge to your advantage on the battlefield! Especially a LOT more types of modern day animals. Pick the right beasts, place them in the right place, and command them to defeat the enemy The most expensive army doesn’t always win. Test your tactical and strategic expertise in the campaign mode.
